About ten months ago, we started an experiment that would change how VISCO users interact with their data forever. We set out to create something bold—an AI-powered assistant that could understand VISCO the way ChatGPT understands… well, everything else.
Her name is Viv.
Viv is essentially “AI, but for VISCO.” She speaks the language of our customers, knows our database structures, and helps our team and users find answers without digging through manuals or documentation.
And, as with all good origin stories, hers began with a little curiosity and a lot of innovation. But enough about origins, here is where you come in.
Step 1: Activating Viv
To get started, simply contact support@viscosoftware.com to activate Viv on your install.
Step 2: Sit back and let your mind be blown.
Once Viv is active, she begins responding to questions using VISCO-specific intelligence we’ve trained her on. But the real magic is in how that training happens.
Training Viv: The Art (and Science) of Teaching an AI
Viv’s brain didn’t come preloaded with knowledge about VISCO. We had to teach her everything—how our system works, what our users ask most often, and even the nuances of our trade and logistics workflows.
Here’s how that process works:

We create training files — with a little help from ChatGPT itself.
Each file follows a precise structure that pairs example questions with ideal VISCO-specific answers. Think of it as feeding her flashcards—10,000 at a time. -
We upload those files to the OpenAI Fine-Tuning platform
Each upload trains Viv’s underlying “model.” -
A new model is born.
Once the fine-tuning completes successfully, OpenAI issues a new model ID. We then plug that model reference into our core system so Viv can start using her latest training. -
Viv goes live across any VISCO environment.
We are now accepting requests from customers who want to help us train and teach Viv as part of a Beta program.
